Dreaming is a site-specific visual installation created for the Sala di Diana at the Reggia di Venaria, a UNESCO World Heritage site, developed in dialogue with a live string concert. The project transformed the historic space through advanced video mapping techniques, using light and motion to reinterpret the architectural and sculptural richness of the venue.
The visual design was conceived to seamlessly integrate with the existing stuccoes, reliefs, and statues, enhancing their volumes rather than obscuring them. Abstract, fluid, and symmetrical compositions were mapped onto the complex surfaces of the architecture, allowing the visuals to follow and amplify the rhythm and geometry of the space.
Drawing inspiration from the concepts of dream, journey, and the surreal, the installation unfolded as an immersive experience suspended between past and present. Generative graphic elements and bespoke animations were carefully synchronized with the sound design of the concert, creating a unified audiovisual narrative that respected the classical identity of the royal residence while introducing a contemporary, poetic layer of interpretation.
The result is a contemplative visual environment in which historical architecture becomes an active performer—reshaped by light, movement, and sound.
