HARARA
THE BLACK ISSUE
OUT TAKES

art direction and concept design
Harara means heat in arabic, and that’s the name of this project.
Harara tells Bastiaan Woudt through a collection of images taken in Morocco.
Images in which the color black prevails, a warm black.

Hence the concept of warmth, of belonging on which the whole zine is based.
Divided into six chapters, where each of them is opened by an interview and a Moroccan girl who preludes the content of the chapter, Harara aims to get closer to the user thanks to the real testimonies of a Moroccan girl.
The concept of warmth and belonging is explicit through the cover made with heat-sensitive ink that offers a law, to leave one’s mark.
